You can customize your home page to show charts based on any reports you create. Keep in mind that the home page is the landing page for all users, so you will want to add charts that will help brokers manage their day-to-day from a quick glance or provide a high-level overview for the management team to understand how the business is performing.
This guide will take you through how to create a chart on any home page:
Step 1. Create the report you want to appear on the homepage. Go to the Reports object to develop your preferred report or use one of the existing templates. Be sure to add a chart on the report by clicking the pie chart icon. You must create and update the chart while you are editing the report, not after saving the report. You should see the chart in a view similar to the below. The chart you create on the report is what will appear on the homepage eventually.
Be sure to save the report in a Public folder once you've finished the adjustments to the report and chart. Don't forget the name of the report you just created!
Step 2.To edit the homepage click the gear icon on the top right-hand side of the page > click Edit Page. This will bring you to the Lightning App Builder, which allows you to edit the components on the Homepage.
Step 3. You can either edit an existing Chart Component or Add a new one:
- To add a new one find Report Chart on the panel on the left-hand side. Drag and drop the Report Chart to your ideal location on the layout.
- To edit this new component or an existing component, click on it. The panel on the right-hand side of the screen will open the preference/settings for the component you clicked on. Under Report, use the drop down arrow next to the field to find the report you recently created. Once you select the intended report, you should see the chart in that component update. Click Save.
